A$AP Rocky is set to receive the inaugural Tribeca X Filmmaker of the Year Award, becoming the first-ever recipient of the honor from Tribeca Festival’s brand storytelling platform, Tribeca X. The award recognizes his impact across music, fashion, film, design, and creative direction, highlighting his work as a multidisciplinary storyteller.
Tribeca X created the new award to celebrate artists who push the boundaries of modern storytelling through cinematic vision, cultural influence, and brand-supported creative work. Organizers cited Rocky’s contributions to music videos, fashion campaigns, film projects, and visual storytelling as key reasons for the recognition.
The award will be presented during the 25th annual Tribeca Festival, taking place June 8–9 at Spring Studios in New York City. Tribeca Enterprises CEO Rebecca Glashow described Rocky as a “genre-defying visionary” whose work represents the future of cross-platform storytelling.
The honor adds another major achievement to Rocky’s expanding résumé, further cementing his influence beyond music and into film, fashion, and creative culture.
