Wizkid is set to headline the 2026 edition of Detty December Fest, taking the stage on December 18 for the festivalโ€™s grand opening night in Lagos.

Organisers Livespot360 announced that the Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar will headline the main Festival Stage, kicking off a 13-day celebration of music, culture, food, fashion and entertainment running from December 18 through December 30.

The announcement marks another major moment for Wizkid and the rapidly expanding Detty December Fest. The singer was also part of the inaugural 2025 edition, where he made a surprise appearance during Gunnaโ€™s set. The first edition attracted more than 40,000 festivalgoers and featured major names including Gunna, Busta Rhymes, Tiwa Savage, Shenseea, Phyno and Fave.

For 2026, organisers are expanding the festival with the introduction of a second stage, the Pulse Stage, which will focus on emerging artists, new sounds and breakthrough African talent. The move is designed to give rising acts a larger platform alongside established international and African stars.

Wizkidโ€™s selection as the opening-night headliner further reinforces his status as one of the biggest names in African music. With a career spanning more than a decade, the singer has become one of the key figures in Afrobeatsโ€™ global expansion, earning multiple international awards and building a worldwide audience.

The 2026 festival is expected to once again turn Lagos into a major destination for music fans travelling to Nigeria during the festive season. The combination of international stars, Nigerian heavyweights and emerging acts is positioning Detty December Fest as one of Africaโ€™s biggest end-of-year entertainment events.

With Wizkid leading the opening night on December 18, the countdown to Detty December Fest 2026 has officially begun.
