Rapper and entrepreneur Saweetie is facing a multimillion-dollar lawsuit after a Japanese concert promoter accused her and her touring company of fraud and breach of contract related to a series of canceled performances in Japan. ย

According to court documents, Moon Dream Production claims it entered into an agreement with Saweetie and her touring company, Icy Grl Touring, for four shows scheduled across Japan between July 18 and July 26, 2025. The promoter alleges that Saweetie agreed to perform for a fee of $200,000 and received a $100,000 advance payment before the concerts were ultimately canceled. ย

The lawsuit goes beyond a standard breach-of-contract claim. Moon Dream alleges that Saweetie and her team used visa services arranged by the promoter to enter Japan and then performed at other events during the same period they were contractually committed to Moon Dreamโ€™s shows. The company argues that these actions amount to fraud rather than a simple scheduling dispute. ย

In addition to seeking the return of the $100,000 deposit, the promoter claims it suffered significant financial losses tied to venue bookings, marketing campaigns, merchandise expenses, and projected concert revenue. As a result, Moon Dream is seeking more than $3 million in damages, including punitive damages. ย

The legal action arrives during a relatively quiet period for Saweetie, whose most recent project, Hella Pressure, was released last year. Neither Saweetie nor her representatives have publicly responded to the allegations at the time of writing. ย

As the case develops, the lawsuit could become a closely watched dispute within the live music industry, where international touring agreements and performance guarantees often involve substantial financial commitments from promoters and artists alike. ย
