Rick Ross will have to wait longer for his next court appearance after his scheduled arraignment was postponed because prosecutors have yet to formally file charges in the rapper’s domestic violence case.

The Miami rapper, whose real name is William Leonard Roberts II, was expected in court on Thursday, October 22. However, his attorneys appeared for the proceedings and said the formal charges had not been filed, resulting in a delay. According to local reports, prosecutors requested additional time to decide whether to proceed with the case.

The case stems from allegations made by Ross’ ex-girlfriend, Jazzma Kendrick, who accused the rapper of physically assaulting her during an incident she says occurred on August 28 at his Star Island home in Miami Beach.

According to the police account, Kendrick alleged that an argument began after Ross questioned her about an Instagram photo in which she had been tagged. She accused him of striking her multiple times, restricting her breathing and slamming her against a wall. The allegations have not been proven in court.

Ross was arrested on October 1 and released the same day after posting a $5,000 bond. His legal team has strongly denied the accusations, describing them as fabricated and maintaining that the rapper is innocent.

Following his release, Ross also publicly rejected the claims. His attorneys have questioned the timing of Kendrick’s report to police, noting that she contacted authorities approximately a month after the alleged incident.

The latest postponement does not mean the case has been dismissed. Instead, prosecutors are still considering whether to formally file charges, leaving the legal proceedings unresolved.

According to NBC 6 South Florida, prosecutors requested an additional 30 days to make that decision. A new arraignment date had not been firmly established in the initial reports, while local broadcaster WSVN reported that a hearing was scheduled for November 6.

For now, the case remains pending as both sides maintain their positions. Ross continues to deny the allegations, and any decision on formal charges will determine how the proceedings move forward.
