Former Little Mix star Perrie Edwards has officially entered a new chapter in her solo career after parting ways with Sony Music and longtime management company Modest Management following 15 years of working with both.

The 33-year-old singer has reportedly turned down an opportunity to make her second solo album with Columbia Records, choosing instead to build a new team around her as she prepares for the next phase of her career.

A fresh start for Perrie

Edwards has now signed with Various Artists Management, a company whose roster includes artists such as Tom Grennan, Rose Gray and Melanie C.

The move comes as the singer begins work on her second solo album and looks to take greater control over her creative direction and the team surrounding her.

According to reports, Edwards feels that her first solo campaign gave her a clearer understanding of the type of artist she wants to become and the direction she wants to explore with her next project.

15 years with Sony and Modest

Edwards’ relationship with Sony and Modest dates back to 2011, when Little Mix was formed after the group competed on The X Factor UK.

Alongside Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson, Perrie went on to become part of one of the most successful British girl groups of the 2010s.

Little Mix achieved multiple No. 1 albums and singles, sold millions of records worldwide and became the first group to win The X Factor UK.

Following the group’s hiatus in 2022, Edwards remained with Sony and launched her solo career under Columbia Records.

Her solo career takes a new direction

Perrie released her self-titled debut solo album, Perrie, in 2025.

The album peaked at No. 3 on the UK Albums Chart, while her debut solo single, “Forget About Us,” became her first solo UK Top 10 hit.

More recently, Edwards released “Passenger Princess,” which she described as the closing chapter of her first solo era.

The singer has already hinted that she has a clear vision for what comes next, telling Hits Radio that she knows the “vibe” and direction of her new era and simply needs to put everything in place.

Greater creative control

The decision to leave Sony and Modest appears to be part of Edwards’ desire for greater ownership over her career.

Reports indicate that she is grateful for the support she received from Sony, Columbia and Modest throughout both her Little Mix career and her transition into solo music.

However, after more than a decade with the same team, she reportedly felt that the time was right for a change.

Her new partnership with Various Artists Management is therefore expected to give her a fresh environment as she develops her second album.
