Megan Thee Stallion has entered a new distribution partnership with Interscope Records, giving the Houston superstar access to the major labelโ€™s global distribution and strategic resources while allowing her to maintain ownership of her music.

Megan announced the partnership on August 14, revealing that her independent company, Hot Girl Productions, will work with Interscope on her upcoming releases. She emphasized that owning her masters and publishing and maintaining her independence remain priorities under the new arrangement.

The deal represents a significant shift in Meganโ€™s business strategy. Rather than signing a traditional recording deal that would potentially transfer ownership of her recordings, the new partnership allows her to remain independent while leveraging Interscopeโ€™s international infrastructure for distribution and support. Roc Nation is also involved in the broader partnership.

โ€œIโ€™ve always wanted to create music on my terms while building a legacy that extends beyond the industry,โ€ Megan said, explaining that the partnership will allow her to maintain her creative vision while expanding her global reach.

The announcement arrives at an especially important moment for Megan, who is preparing to release her next album, Act III. The project is expected to continue the story established by her previous releases, with Megan recently confirming that she has taken her time developing the album and is particularly excited about the final result.

Megan has previously used a similar independent-minded structure. In 2024, she entered an agreement with Warner Music Group that gave her access to Warnerโ€™s global services while allowing her to retain ownership of her masters and publishing through Hot Girl Productions.

The new Interscope partnership therefore continues Meganโ€™s strategy of combining artist independence with major-label infrastructure. For an artist with a global audience, the arrangement provides access to Interscopeโ€™s international distribution and marketing capabilities without requiring her to give up the ownership she has repeatedly identified as a priority.

Meanwhile, anticipation for Act III continues to build. Megan has teased the project as the next major chapter of her career, with the rapper promising a project that reflects the time and creative freedom she has invested in its development. An official release date has not yet been announced.

With Hot Girl Productions retaining its independent identity and Interscope providing global distribution and strategic support, Megan Thee Stallion is entering her next era on her own terms just as Act III begins to take shape.
