Mary J. Blige has entered a major catalog partnership with independent music publisher Primary Wave, bringing songs and recordings from across her celebrated career into a new agreement announced on October 26, 2026.

The deal covers compositions and recordings from the nine-time Grammy winnerโ€™s catalog, spanning her 15 studio albums, including landmark projects such as Whatโ€™s the 411?, My Life, The Breakthrough and Strength of a Woman. However, the financial terms remain undisclosed, and neither party has confirmed whether the agreement involves a transfer of ownership or the sale of a specific stake in her catalog.

Among the songs named in the agreement are some of Bligeโ€™s biggest records, including โ€œFamily Affair,โ€ โ€œBe Without You,โ€ โ€œMy Life,โ€ โ€œMary Jane (All Night Long),โ€ โ€œYou Bring Me Joy,โ€ โ€œBe Happyโ€ and โ€œI Can Love You.โ€

The partnership will also give Blige and her team access to Primary Waveโ€™s marketing and publishing infrastructure, with opportunities to collaborate on branding, digital campaigns, new music promotion and synchronization licensing for film, television and other media.

Blige, widely known as the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, has sold more than 50 million records worldwide. Since making her debut in 1992, she has built a lasting legacy through her fusion of R&B, soul and hip-hop, earning nine Grammy Awards and an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2024. Her 1994 album My Life was added to the Library of Congressโ€™ National Recording Registry in 2025.

Primary Wave has continued expanding its portfolio of iconic music rights, with interests connected to artists including Bob Marley, Prince, Whitney Houston and James Brown. The Blige partnership adds another influential R&B catalog to its growing collection.

The agreement arrives as Blige continues her My Life, My Story Las Vegas residency, which has been extended into February 2027. Rather than announcing a confirmed sale price, the companies have emphasized the partnershipโ€™s potential to expand the reach and commercial opportunities of her music.
