Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean are set to headline the 2026 Global Citizen Festival, taking place on September 26 at Central Park’s Great Lawn in New York City.
The Fugees collaborators will use the festival appearance to continue celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of The Score, the group’s landmark 1996 album. Global Citizen confirmed that Hill and Jean will perform together as part of this year’s lineup.
They will be joined by an eclectic lineup featuring Lenny Kravitz, John Legend, Lainey Wilson, Shaboozey and K-pop group TOMORROW X TOGETHER. The festival will be hosted by Hugh Jackman, with Rachel Brosnahan and Gayle King also announced as special guests.
The announcement comes shortly after Hill and Jean reunited in the UK for Diaspora Calling!, where they performed The Score in its entirety to mark the album’s 30th anniversary. Their recent reunion has generated renewed excitement around the Fugees’ legacy, particularly after the pair suggested that they remain open to creating new music together.
Released in 1996, The Score became one of the most influential hip-hop albums of its era, blending rap, soul and reggae while producing enduring hits including “Ready or Not,” “Fu-Gee-La” and the group’s celebrated version of “Killing Me Softly.”
Beyond the music, the Global Citizen Festival is an annual advocacy event focused on tackling extreme poverty. This year’s campaign is targeting education for 2 million children, support for 1.5 million smallholder farmers, and expanded electricity access for 2.5 million homes.
For Hill and Jean, the Central Park performance represents another major moment in their 30th-anniversary celebration of The Score. Their continued collaboration three decades after the album’s release demonstrates the enduring influence of the Fugees’ music and the lasting connection between the two artists.
With the festival scheduled for September 26, fans will now have another opportunity to see Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean share the stage as they revisit one of hip-hop’s most celebrated musical legacies.
