Jay-Z brought his three-decade musical legacy to Los Angeles on Friday, October 23, launching the final leg of his JAŸ-Z30 concert celebration with a sold-out show at SoFi Stadium. The rapper delivered a career-spanning performance featuring his daughter Blue Ivy Carter and surprise appearances from Scarface, John Legend and DJ Khaled.

One of the night’s most memorable moments came when Blue Ivy joined her father onstage, playing piano during performances of “The Story of O.J.” and “Dead Presidents.” The 14-year-old’s appearance added a personal touch to the concert, as she accompanied Jay-Z on two tracks from different eras of his catalogue.

The father-daughter performance drew cheers from the crowd, with Jay-Z celebrating Blue Ivy’s musical abilities before the pair embraced at the end of their set.

Jay-Z also welcomed Houston rap legend Scarface to the stage for performances of “This Can’t Be Life” and “Mind Playing Tricks on Me.” Later, DJ Khaled and John Legend joined the Brooklyn rapper for “God Did,” bringing the opening-night performance to a close with the song’s extended collaboration.

The concert featured a setlist packed with defining records from across Jay-Z’s career, including “Izzo (H.O.V.A.),” “99 Problems,” “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem),” “Empire State of Mind” and “Dirt Off Your Shoulder.” The performance also paid tribute to late Los Angeles rapper Nipsey Hussle, incorporating elements of his music into Jay-Z’s set.

The star power extended beyond the stage. Beyoncé watched from the audience alongside former Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, bringing the trio together publicly at the event. Rihanna, DJ Khaled and other entertainment figures were also among the high-profile attendees.

The Los Angeles concerts form part of Jay-Z’s JAŸ-Z30 celebration, which commemorates 30 years since the release of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, and 25 years since The Blueprint. The anniversary run has included major performances in New York, London and Paris, revisiting the catalogue that helped establish him as one of hip-hop’s defining artists.

The opening night set the stage for the second and final Los Angeles show on Saturday, October 24. That performance brought another wave of surprise guests, including Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Too $hort, giving the series a distinctly West Coast finish.

With the JAŸ-Z30 run combining career-defining hits, legendary collaborators and a family moment with Blue Ivy, Jay-Z turned the Los Angeles stop into a celebration of both his musical history and his continued influence on hip-hop.
