At the same ceremony, Sabrina Carpenter also collected her first Emmy for her work on The Muppet Show, giving both Grammy-winning stars another major achievement to add to their growing résumés.
Bad Bunny Makes Emmy History
Bad Bunny’s first Emmy came through his Super Bowl LX halftime performance, which dominated the first night of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
The show won seven Emmys, including Outstanding Variety Special (Live), making it only the third Super Bowl halftime show to win in that category. It also picked up awards for Music Direction, Choreography, Sound Mixing, Lighting Design, Technical Direction/Camerawork and Directing.
The seven wins made Bad Bunny’s halftime show the most-awarded Super Bowl halftime performance in Emmy history, adding another landmark achievement to what has already been a defining period in the Puerto Rican artist’s career.
The performance had received nine nominations, making it the most-nominated Super Bowl halftime show in Emmy history before the ceremony.

Carpenter served as an executive producer and performer on the 2026 revival, which was created to mark the 50th anniversary of the original Muppet Show. The production won Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded).
The victory adds an Emmy to Carpenter’s existing two Grammy Awards, putting her halfway toward the prestigious EGOT, an achievement requiring an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.
Carpenter celebrated the victory on Instagram, congratulating the Muppet Show team and highlighting the work and creativity that went into the special.
The Muppet Show revival enjoyed an especially strong night, taking home four Emmys in total, including awards for writing, picture editing and production design.
Stephen Colbert and Other Big Winners
The Creative Arts Emmy ceremonies also produced major wins for several television veterans and popular shows.
The Late Show With Stephen Colbert collected five Emmys, while The Traitors followed with six. Apple TV+‘s Widow’s Bay was another major winner, ultimately leading the weekend with eight awards.
Among the individual acting winners was David Harbour, who picked up his first Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for HBO’s DTF St. Louis.
Linda Cardellini also won her first Emmy, taking home Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for DTF St. Louis.
Another emotional moment came when Rob Reiner received a posthumous Emmy for his guest appearance on The Bear. The victory marked his first Emmy win in acting since his previous Emmy victory in 1978.
Jay-Z Adds Another Emmy to His Collection
Bad Bunny wasn’t the only music heavyweight connected to the Super Bowl performance to receive Emmy recognition.
Jay-Z, who served as an executive producer on the halftime show, also added another Emmy to his collection. He had previously won an Emmy as an executive producer on Kendrick Lamar’s 2025 Super Bowl halftime show.
That makes the Super Bowl production another major intersection between music’s biggest stars and television’s most prestigious awards.

The Creative Arts ceremonies took place on September 5 and 6 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, honoring more than 100 winners across technical, creative, documentary, reality, comedy and drama categories.
The main 78th Primetime Emmy Awards will take place on September 14, with Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Mariska Hargitay hosting the ceremony on NBC and Peacock.
But even before the main ceremony, the 2026 Emmys have already produced several historic moments.
