Nigerian music legend 2Baba has announced that a new studio album titled Oldest Young Man is on the way, marking another chapter in the celebrated career of one of Africaโ€™s most influential artists.

The announcement has sparked excitement among fans who have followed 2Babaโ€™s career since his days with Plantashun Boiz and his emergence as a solo superstar. Over more than two decades, he has remained a major figure in Nigerian music, with a catalogue that includes classics such as โ€œAfrican Queen,โ€ โ€œOnly Me,โ€ โ€œRainbow,โ€ โ€œOpoโ€ and โ€œAmaka.โ€

The title Oldest Young Man appears to capture the duality of 2Babaโ€™s career, an artist with decades of experience who continues to evolve and participate in Nigeriaโ€™s changing music landscape.

While details surrounding the albumโ€™s release date, tracklist and guest features have yet to be fully revealed, the announcement has already generated anticipation among fans eager to hear what the veteran singer has been working on.

The project will follow 2Babaโ€™s most recent album, Warriors, released in 2020. That project featured collaborations with artists including Burna Boy, Olamide, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, AJ, Dammy Krane and Syemca, among others.

An Oldest Young Man album would represent another opportunity for 2Baba to bridge different generations of Nigerian music. Having influenced many of the artists who dominate todayโ€™s Afrobeats scene, his return comes at a time when Nigerian music continues to expand globally.

For an artist whose career has survived multiple generations, changing sounds and a rapidly evolving music industry, the title Oldest Young Man feels particularly fitting.

2Babaโ€™s next chapter is officially on the way.
