Skepta has officially confirmed his long-awaited return with a new solo album titled Fork & Knife<\/em><\/strong>, slated for release in early 2026<\/strong>. In a recent interview with British GQ<\/em>, Skepta revealed that the album\u2019s title is deeply personal, inspired by a saying from his mother: \u201cIn this life, we have to work hard, so one day, we’ll eat with fork and knife.\u201d He explained that the record explores his immigrant heritage, the tension between his home life and his public persona, and the emotional complexities of success.<\/p>\n

During the conversation, he also addressed industry gatekeeping, bluntly rejecting the idea that older figures still control who makes it in rap. \u201cThere ain\u2019t no gatekeepers\u2026 Whoever thinks they\u2019re a gatekeeper needs to look again at that gate,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
