Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Wizkid is set to perform at Kenya’s Detty Dezemba Festival on December 12, 2026, as the singer prepares for a busy festive season across Africa.

The announcement places the Grammy-winning artist among the headline attractions for the Nairobi event, organised by KOLACOPIA and Active Vibes KE. The festival is scheduled for Saturday, December 12, with its organisers gradually unveiling the lineup ahead of the show.

Wizkid is the second act revealed for the festival, following South African Amapiano DJ and producer Uncle Waffles. Four additional artist slots remain undisclosed, with organisers keeping fans guessing as anticipation builds around the event.

The festival’s official website lists Nairobi as the destination, although the venue has yet to be announced. The December edition follows an earlier event in August that organisers say attracted more than 20,000 attendees.

Wizkid’s reported appearance in Kenya comes during one of the busiest periods of the year for African live music, as concerts and festivals draw fans across the continent and from the diaspora. His international profile, built through hits such as “Essence,” “Ojuelegba” and “Joro,” has made him one of Afrobeats’ most recognisable global exports.

The Nairobi date is also part of a packed December schedule for the singer. Wizkid is scheduled to headline the Live Out Loud Music Festival at Eagle Square in Abuja on December 13, before returning to Lagos to headline the opening concert of Detty December Fest on December 18.

The Kenya appearance would give fans another opportunity to see the singer perform outside Nigeria during the festive season, while reinforcing the growing connection between African music markets.

With more acts still to be revealed and the venue announcement pending, attention will now turn to the remaining lineup and further details from the organisers.
