John Legend is entering a new musical era with MUSE, his forthcoming studio album produced entirely and co-written by Pharrell Williams. The 16-track project is set to arrive October 23, 2026, via Republic Records.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The album marks the first full project between Legend and Pharrell, despite their more than two decades of friendship. The pair began writing and recording MUSE in Paris in January 2025 at Pharrell\u2019s studio inside Louis Vuitton\u2019s headquarters, where he serves as men\u2019s creative director.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Described as a departure from Legend\u2019s familiar piano-driven ballads, MUSE blends gospel, doo-wop, classic soul, Afrobeat and hip-hop with a cinematic aesthetic that Legend and Pharrell describe as a \u201cBlack James Bond\u201d vision. Legend said he wanted to \u201cshake up the formula\u201d and create something fresh and unexpected.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The album\u2019s lead single, \u201cDaylight,\u201d was released alongside the announcement after Legend previewed the song during CBS\u2019 America\u2019s Tailgate. Pharrell also appears on six tracks, while Clipse feature on \u201cBodies on the Floor.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
