The lawsuit was filed by 24\/7 Productions, which claims it provided production services including staging, lighting, audio, staffing, transportation, and event logistics for Minaj\u2019s album launch and Jingle Ball appearances. The company alleges it advanced more than $275,000 in expenses with the expectation that it would be reimbursed, but says payment was never made.<\/p>\n
In newly filed court documents, however, Minaj argues that she should not be held personally liable because any agreement was made with Pink Friday Productions LLC, not with her as an individual. Her legal team contends that under New York law, members of a limited liability company are generally protected from personal responsibility for the company\u2019s contractual obligations unless specific legal exceptions apply.<\/p>\n
According to the motion, Minaj never personally signed a contract with 24\/7 Productions, nor did she directly hire the company. Her attorneys argue that the production company\u2019s attempt to sue her individually lacks a sufficient legal basis and have asked the court not only to dismiss the claims against her personally but also to award legal fees incurred in responding to the lawsuit.<\/p>\n
Importantly, Minaj\u2019s filing does not seek to dismiss the breach-of-contract claims against Pink Friday Productions LLC. Instead, it requests that the lawsuit continue solely against the company while removing the rapper herself as a named defendant. The legal dispute stems from work allegedly performed in late 2023 during the promotional campaign for Pink Friday 2.
