As older workers retire in large numbers, there simply aren\u2019t enough younger workers to replace them, leaving critical sectors understaffed.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>To keep its economy running, Germany now needs around 300,000 foreign workers every year, with shortages affecting over 160 different professions.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Industries hardest hit include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Healthcare (especially nursing)<\/li>\n<li>IT and engineering<\/li>\n<li>Construction and skilled trades<\/li>\n<li>Education and logistics <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In response, Germany has intensified efforts to attract talent from abroad and India has emerged as a key partner.
