Speaking about returning to his old neighborhood, he shared:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Man, this is the heart of Harlem. I grew up here. I\u2019m happy to be here and tap in with the youth. I heard through the grapevine I\u2019m the first rapper to be here, so we\u2019re going to be teaching rap today, boys and girls.\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"primis10TGJ\" data-refreshrate=\"0\"><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The <strong>\u2018L$D\u2019<\/strong> rapper also explained why learning about Rap music matters:<\/p>\n<div id=\"primis10TGJ\" data-refreshrate=\"0\"><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u2018Because it\u2019s not only one of the most popular, influential cultural genres, but it\u2019s also just cool as s***.\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"primis10TGJ\" data-refreshrate=\"0\"><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As part of the lesson plan, Rocky broke down the fundamentals of crafting a song:<\/p>\n<div id=\"primis10TGJ\" data-refreshrate=\"0\"><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u2018We\u2019ll be teaching the kids how to format a rap song. We\u2019ll teach them subject matter, and then we\u2019ll also teach them arithmetic. It\u2019s numbers, the way you count music.\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"primis10TGJ\" data-refreshrate=\"0\"><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In addition to songwriting basics, the <strong>\u2018Dope\u2019<\/strong> actor encouraged the students to freestyle, emphasizing confidence and self expression.
