And the Hollywood icon will be honored as such at the forthcoming <strong>American Black Film Festival Honors.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Moments ago, it was announced that Bassett, whose trailblazing roles include<strong>\u2018What\u2019s Love Got To Do With It,\u2019 \u2018911,\u2019 <\/strong>and the <strong>\u2018Black Panther\u2019<\/strong> franchise, will be bestowed with the <strong>Excellence in the Arts Award<\/strong> at the <strong>8th Annual (ABFF) Honors<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"primis10TGJ\" data-refreshrate=\"0\"><\/div>\n<p>A salute to a career as distinguished and decorated to the highest order, the award will be presented to the star on February 16 at the SLS hotel in Beverly Hills, CA.<\/p>\n<div id=\"primis10TGJ\" data-refreshrate=\"0\"><\/div>\n<p>ABFF President Jeff Friday and Nicole Friday said in a statement:<\/p>\n<div id=\"primis10TGJ\" data-refreshrate=\"0\"><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cHer body of work is both extraordinary and enduring, defined by performances that are fearless, powerful, and deeply human. She has set a standard for artistic integrity and cultural impact that continues to inspire generations, and we are honored to celebrate her remarkable career with the Excellence in the Arts Award.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"primis10TGJ\" data-refreshrate=\"0\"><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The night will also honor <strong>Dwayne \u2018The Rock\u2019 Johnson<\/strong> with the Entertainment Icon Award, powerhouse talent <strong>Jennifer Hudson<\/strong>, host of \u2018The Jennifer Hudson Show\u2019 with the Renaissance Award, and trailblazing director and executive producer <strong>Salli Richardson-Whitfield<\/strong>with the Evolution Award. <strong>Damson Idris<\/strong>with the Horizon Award.<\/p>\n<div id=\"primis10TGJ\" data-refreshrate=\"0\"><\/div>\n<p>Hosted by <strong>KevOnStage, <\/strong>the event will also honor the creatives behind <strong>\u2018Sinners.\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Angela Bassett is widely considered one of the greatest to grace a screen.
