Olivia Rodrigo is getting into the holiday spirit with the announcement of her first-ever Christmas single, “take me home (4 christmas),” set to arrive this Friday, November 6.
The Grammy-winning singer shared the news on November 2, revealing that the festive track will be released on Thursday, November 5, at 5 PM PT (8 PM ET), alongside its official music video.
The upcoming video will feature appearances from Sex and the City actress Cynthia Nixon and Saturday Night Live cast member Ben Marshall. A teaser shared by Rodrigo offers a glimpse of a Christmas-themed gathering, with the cast playing a festive guessing game.
“take me home (4 christmas)” was written by Rodrigo alongside her longtime collaborator Dan Nigro and songwriter Amy Allen, with Nigro also handling production.
Fans will also be able to get their hands on limited-edition physical releases, including a red 7-inch vinyl and cassette. The vinyl edition is set to arrive in stores on November 6.
The announcement follows a busy year for Rodrigo, who released her third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, in June. She also recently teamed up with Chappell Roan for a remix of “expectations.”
With her first Christmas offering, Rodrigo is stepping into the festive music space and joining the annual race for the Christmas charts.
