Music icon Mariah Carey has confirmed that fans can expect new music next year, teasing a fresh chapter less than a year after the release of her latest studio album.

Carey revealed the news while speaking with a fan in Beverly Hills. When asked about new material, the legendary singer simply confirmed that new music is coming “next year,” pointing to a 2027 release.

A new chapter after Here For It All

The announcement comes after Carey released her 16th studio album, Here For It All, in 2025.

The album debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and received strong reviews, marking another successful chapter in the singer’s remarkable career. A deluxe edition was also previously teased, although there has been no confirmation that those plans remain unchanged.

Carey’s confirmation therefore gives fans something new to look forward to as she prepares to enter 2027 with fresh material.

The announcement comes during a busy period for the singer’s catalogue.

Carey recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of her landmark album Daydream with an expanded edition featuring previously unreleased recordings, live performances, remixes and other archival material. The anniversary edition was released digitally in July, with physical formats scheduled for October 16.

The expanded Daydream campaign has allowed a new generation of listeners to revisit one of the most important albums of her career while longtime fans have been treated to previously unheard material.

There is also currently no confirmed release date, title or tracklist for the 2027 music.
