Neo-soul icon Erykah Badu is officially set to join hip-hop legend Jay-Z as a co-headliner for the 2026 Roots Picnic, adding even more weight to one of the year’s biggest music festivals.

The announcement confirms that Badu will headline the second day of the festival, while Jay-Z will lead the opening night alongside The Roots, who curate the annual event. 

Set to take place on May 30–31 in Philadelphia, the festival is already shaping up to be a major cultural moment, blending hip-hop, R&B, and soul across generations. 

Beyond the headliners, the lineup includes a strong supporting cast featuring artists like Kehlani, Brandy, T.I., and more reinforcing the Roots Picnic’s reputation as a space where legends and contemporary stars collide.
