Nigerian singer Harrison Okiri, aka Harrysong, has revealed that his rift with his former record label boss Kcee affected his career, especially his creativity.
Harrysong and Kcee/5ive Star Music fell out in 2017 after the Delta-born singer accused the record label of withholding royalty, unfair treatment, and creative restrictions.
Harrysong also claimed he wrote a lot of hit songs for Kcee during his stint at the label, which prompted series of replies from Kcee and further escalated the dispute.
While speaking in a recent interview with Jusmen 105.7 FM, Harrysong disclosed that the beef with Kcee sometimes distracted him from making music.
โThe beef with Kcee used to distract me, it used to affect the music. Because most of the time, instead of recording, I would be thinking of how to reply Kcee and continue to fight. So, it distracted me. It affected my creativity,โ he said.
Harrysong said he has now resolved his dispute with Kcee and 5ive Star Music. He added that he has also grown a tick skin to controversies in a way that they could no longer distract him from making music
