Two Afrobeats heavyweights, Wizkid and Asake, have released a new single titled ‘Jogodo’ to kick-start the New Year.

The track was released ahead of their forthcoming joint EP, ‘REAL, Vol. 1’ which is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026.

‘Jogodo’ sets the tone for the collaborative project, blending Wizkid’s laid-back global sound with Asake’s street-rooted style.

When Wizkid and Asake come together, it’s never just another release  it’s a cultural event. Their 2026 collaboration “Jogodo” proves exactly that, standing as one of the most talked-about Afrobeats records of the year and a clear statement of intent from two artists at the peak of their powers.

Released in January 2026, “Jogodo” arrived as the lead single from Wizkid and Asake’s joint EP, Real (Vol. 1). The track immediately sparked excitement across Africa and the diaspora, not only because of the star power involved, but because fans had long anticipated a deeper collaboration between the two beyond guest verses.

Their chemistry was already proven, but “Jogodo” takes it further it sounds intentional, effortless, and rooted in shared identity.

In Nigerian street slang and Pidgin English, “jogodo” loosely translates to being high, tipsy, or lost in enjoyment. The word perfectly captures the song’s essence: nightlife, rhythm, pleasure, and the intoxicating feeling of living in the moment.

Other tracks listed on the EP include ‘Turbulence’, ‘Iskolodo’ and ‘Alaye’.
