Jesy Nelson has shared an emotional update with fans, revealing that her baby twins have been diagnosed with a rare and potentially fatal genetic condition.
The little Mix alum took to social media to open up about the health battle facing her daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, whom she welcomed prematurely with partner Zion Fosterlast year.
In a tearful video, the singer revealed that her twins have been diagnosed with SMA Type 1, the most severe form of Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a muscle-wasting disease that impacts breathing, swallowing, and movement.
She said:
โIf itโs not treated in time, your babyโs life expectancy will not make it past the age of two.โ
Nelson explained that early concerns were first raised by her mother after noticing limited movement in the girlsโ legs. Following months of appointments and assessments, doctors confirmed the diagnosis.
โAfter the most gruelling months, the girls have now been diagnosed with a severe muscular disease.โ
The former chart-topper shared that Ocean and Story have since received urgent treatment, which she says was life-saving.
If they donโt have it, they will die.โ
